Parents are getting help removing a dangerous item from their homes. On Saturday, moms and dads traded in their old mercury filled thermometer for a new digital thermometer. The trade happened at the Drug Warehouse on 4th Place and Sheridan in Tulsa.
The event was sponsored by the Metropolitan Environmental Trust or M.E.T.
The group ran out of digital thermometers because so many people showed up. Parent who did not get a new thermometer on Saturday will have one mailed to them, event organizers said.
The Metropolitan Environmental Trust coordinates and promotes recycling and environmental events in the metropolitan Tulsa area including Bixby, Broken Arrow, Claremore, Collinsville, Glenpool, Jenks, Owasso and Sand Springs. To learn more about the M.E.T visit their website, www.metrecycle.com.
