Sudden Infant Death Syndrome took their children. Today, parents who have lost children to SIDS gathered near LaFortune Park for a memorial and awareness walk. The groups, Healing Oklahoma Hearts and the Great Battle Against SIDS teamed up with Tulsa County for the first annual “Early Pregnancy and Infant Loss Memorial and Awareness Walk.â€
Parents say they’re working to find answers for their loss.
"There needs to be more studies on it 'cause I'm sure there's a cure,†said Linda Lancaster, a grandmother.
Others say not knowing what caused a child’s death is hard to accept.
"And, that's the heartbreaking thing about it because you don't have an answer. You don’t have an answer why your baby is gone,†said Martin Maynard.
Saturday's walk ended with a symbolic balloon release and a candle light vigil.
