A hi-tech tool may help in the fight against domestic violence. The State Legislature is considering making people with Victim's Protective Orders against them wear GPS tracking devices. The ankle bracelet would let victims know when the abuser is nearby.
The legislation has the support of Tulsa lawmaker Ron Peters.
"I want to see what we can do for the people who have had protective orders against them, allow the judge, it's an additional tool for the judge to use to make sure that person is protected," said Representative Ron Peters.
The company that makes the devices says offenders who wear them are half as likely to reoffend as those without them. Now, lawmakers must determine if this raises any Constitutional issues.
