A Broken Arrow food bank says unless it receives some donations, the food bank may not be able to provide food for everyone that is in need. Broken Arrow Neighbors says it provided meals for more than 16,000 residents in Broken Arrow and Coweta last year. Recently though, it has had trouble meeting that demand.
Food bank volunteers are not exactly sure what has caused the shortage, but believe higher gas prices are not helping. Still, they are hopeful things will turn around by the holidays.
"Where there is a will, there is a way. We will just have to make it a priority even more so than what we're doing now to find the resources that we need," said Kim Goddard with Broken Arrow Neighbors.
