DALLAS (AP) _ The race to make it to the Big 12 Conference title game in San Antonio has begun.
Colorado and Texas A&M have the early divisional leads, but Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas all picked up big conference wins this weekend.
The Sooners (5-1, 1-1 Big 12) downed Texas 28-21 in the annual Red River Rivalry. OU trails A&M (5-1, 2-0) by a game, but that could change when the Aggies visit November 3rd.
Next up for the Sooners is 11th-ranked Missouri (5-0, 1-0), which beat Nebraska 41-to-6 but still trails Colorado in the North Division race by a game.
Kansas -- now ranked 20th after beating Kansas State 30-to-24 -- still trails Colorado (4-2, 2-0), which beat Baylor 43-23.
Down in Austin, the Longhorns (4-2, 0-2) are reeling after losing another conference game. They're tied with Baylor in the Big 12 South cellar.
As for Oklahoma State (3-3, 1-1), they are tied with OU and Texas Tech in conference play after losing 24-23 to A&M.
