ENID, Okla. (AP) -- A former Enid special education teacher has testified that she did not subject her students to physical and mental abuse, as has been alleged by school officials.
The Enid school board fired Mary Morgan on April 2nd.
Enid Public Schools Superintendent Kem Keithly recommended Morgan's dismissal after an investigation revealed the alleged abuse, including pulling a student around the room by her hair, hitting and slapping students and dragging a student by her feet.
The trial in Garfield County District Court is an appeal initiated by Morgan, a 13-year veteran in the Enid school district who worked at Glenwood Elementary School. District Judge Dennis Hladik will decide if Morgan deserves to be reinstated to her job.
