HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) _ Rhett Bomar's outlook mirrors the slogan on a billboard advertising Sam Houston State University along Interstate 45: ``No Better Time. No Better Future.''
The former Oklahoma quarterback is finding his niche at the quiet campus about 70 miles north of Houston.
The now 22-year-old Bomar is making a fresh start after a bad decision that could've cost him his college football career.
On Saturday he returns to Oklahoma when the Bearkats play at Oklahoma State. It's his first time back in the state since he was kicked off the OU team for accepting pay for work he didn't do at a Norman car dealership.
At Sam Houston the facilities aren't as fancy and there's little media attention. The team also travels by bus most of the time instead of chartered planes used at OU.
But Bomar says his goals haven't changed and he still believes he's one of the best quarterbacks in the country and good enough to someday play in the NFL.
