NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma will open its second season under coach Jeff Capel by facing San Francisco in the opening round of the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic, tournament organizers announced Wednesday.
The Sooners' first-round game will be played Nov. 8, with the winner advancing to face either Denver or East Central (Okla.) the following day. The winner of the Norman regional will move on to the semifinals in Madison Square Garden on Nov. 15 and face the champion of a Memphis regional featuring Tennessee-Martin, Richmond, Maine and host Memphis.
Central Arkansas, Gardner-Webb and Alabama A&M will join Kentucky in a regional hosted by the Wildcats, while Morgan State, Buffalo and Ohio Valley will play in a regional hosted by Connecticut.
The Sooners, coming off a 16-15 season that snapped their streak of 25 straight postseason appearances, will play exhibition games against Rockhurst on Oct. 31 and Fayetteville State on Nov. 2 before starting the regular season.
