OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahoma City Blazers hockey coach Doug Sauter is being credited with preventing a stampede at the Oklahoma State Fair by stopping a runaway Belgian horse by biting it on the ear.
Sauter was attending the Centennial Expo's Draft Horse Show on Saturday when the horse broke free and spooked other horses.
Sauter says the way to stop a horse is to bite its ear so he grabbed one and bit.
An unidentified 62-year-old woman was hospitalized in serious condition when a wagon pulled by a team of horses fell on her.
The driver of the wagon was able to turn the horses and steer into a circle to also help prevent a runaway.
