TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- A dozen University of Tulsa students are being sued by 15 recording companies for allegedly illegally downloading music. The 12 students are accused of downloading 106 songs and distributing more than 9,000 audio files. The students are not identified and are currently known only by their numeric Internet addresses.

In addition to the lawsuit, the companies have permission from a federal magistrate to get from TU the names, address, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of the students.

The lawsuit doesn't ask for a specific amount of money but asks for damages for each "infringement" plus legal costs and attorney fees.
