The Tulsa State Fair begins this week. Crews are busy loading up the midway and exhibit halls with all the fair favorites. News On 6 Reporter Joshua Brakhage reports that it is a quick turnaround for some vendors. Down the Turner Turnpike in Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma State Fair finished up on Sunday.

Many of those exhibitors are now beating a trail up the Turner Turnpike to be ready for the opening of the Tulsa State Fair on Thursday.

Many fairgoers will get their first look at the newly renamed "QuikTrip Center". Workers are putting finishing touches on a new ticket office, new bathrooms, and new concession stands.

A few exhibits have started to move in, but most will arrive Monday and Tuesday. Outside, the Sky Ride has been given a makeover.

In addition, organizers are excited about their international beer garden and extra parking.

Missing though is Bell's Amusement Park. The area where it was has been bulldozed. Most of the Bell's Amusement Park is now a parking lot, but some space will be used to make up for the missing rides.

"Part of it right now is gravel and part of it is blacktop. Part of the parking lot is actually not going to be a parking lot. It is going to be another midway. This year we're bringing in two midways to have more rides and more entertainment in that area," says event marketing manager Amanda Blair.

Tulsa State Fair organizers say they have taken big steps to make the event even better. They say they have worked especially hard when it comes to buying tickets and quick and easy transportation.
