OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A national group is praising safety efforts at the Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau. The American Correctional Association recently awarded the bureau with national accreditation. Oklahoma County commissioners recognized the award at Wednesday's meeting.
The award is part of an ongoing accreditation process in which the bureau participates with 1,500 other correctional organizations.
The ACA issues the awards based on its standards on safety, programs and operations of corrections facilities.
