LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Nebraska linebacker Steve Octavien says he and his teammates better not dwell on last night's 49-31 loss to top-ranked Southern California. He says if they do, Ball State might pull an Appalachian State against the Huskers.
Octavien was referring to Appalachian State's upset of Michigan two weeks ago.
Nebraska hopes to start covering some of the flaws exposed by USC when Ball State comes calling at Memorial Stadium this week.
Ball State is 2-1 after beating Navy in overtime yesterday.
The Huskers also are 2-1. They dropped 10 spots in the AP poll this week and now sit at No. 24.
