OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Dozens of Oklahomans are calling for an end to the war in Iraq at a protest rally in northwest Oklahoma City Saturday.
The rally coincides with a march on Washington, D.C., by opponents of the Iraq war.
President Bush has announced plans to bring some troops home from the conflict. The president also says the U.S military is set to start shifting more troops into support roles in Iraq.
But an organizer of the Oklahoma City rally, Darla Shelden, says all U.S. troops should come home now.
Dr. Katherine Schierman, former chief of medical operations for the U.S. Air Force in Europe, says the Democratic majority in Congress cannot end the war alone.
Schierman says it's time for Republicans, including members of Oklahoma's congressional delegation, to take a stand to end U.S. involvement in the conflict.
