STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Backup quarterback Zac Robinson passed for 250 yards and three touchdowns, two to Adarius Bowman, and Oklahoma State overcame a sluggish start to beat Florida Atlantic 42-6 on Saturday night.
Oklahoma State (1-1) won its home opener for a school-record 12th straight year and improved to 20-1 against current Sun Belt Conference schools. It was the third straight year the Cowboys beat Florida Atlantic (1-1), with all the wins by at least 20 points.
The Cowboys played for much of the game without starting quarterback Bobby Reid. Reid, who passed for 191 yards but struggled at times in a 35-14 season-opening loss to Georgia, had 32 yards rushing and went 2-for-5 passing for 7 yards against the Owls but didn't play after the first quarter.
Oklahoma State athletic department spokesman Kevin Klintworth did not immediately know the reason for Reid's absence.
But Robinson, who proved so effective last season that Oklahoma State coaches developed plans during the offseason to use him more, led the Cowboys to touchdowns on three straight possessions in the second and third quarters, turning a 14-6 game into a runaway.
