TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ The two top high-school teams in the state will meet Friday night when Jenks and Union come together for their annual crosstown clash.
Jenks enters the game as the top-ranked team in The Associated Press' high-school poll, and Union is at No. 2 in Class 6A. The two Tulsa-area schools have combined to win the last 11 state titles in Oklahoma's largest football class.
Jenks is the defending champion both in Class 6A and in the so-called ``Backyard Bowl'' against Union.
Jenks quarterback Mark Ginther had an 80-yard touchdown run and Union had a touchdown called back in the final minute of a 9-6 slugfest last year.
This year will mark the first ``Backyard Bowl'' for Kirk Fridrich as Union's head coach.
