NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Prosecutors have filed first-degree murder charges against a man who is accused of killing three women in a Norman house before being severely beaten by the homeowner.

William Eugene Davis, 50, remains in Norman Regional Hospital with injuries he received in that beating. The charges were filed Thursday evening.

Davis is accused of using a 12-gauge shotgun to kill Tami Link, 52; Letannah Bishop, 87; and Sheila Ellis, 56, on Tuesday at Tami and Brent Link's home.

Brent Link, a Navy veteran, disarmed Davis after the shooting and beat him.

Davis was Tami Link's brother. Police said the killings arose from a domestic dispute.

According to a court affidavit, Tami Link had picked up Davis and brought him to her house Tuesday for a visit. Ellis is Tami Link's sister, who was visiting from out of town. Bishop is Brent Link's mother, who lived in the home.

About 3:50 p.m., Brent Link, who is blind, heard gunshots and "knew that something bad had happened," according to the affidavit. Brent Link located the body of one of the victims, then hunted for Davis, confronting him on the front porch of the house.

Brent Link wrestled with Davis, beat him and took the shotgun away from the man before returning to the residence and discovering the other bodies, according to the affidavit.

The Links' son, Stephen, was working in the back yard when the shootings occurred, the affidavit states. After subduing Davis, Brent Link yelled for his son, and the two men tried to revive the women by administering CPR, the affidavit states.
