UNDATED (AP) _ Some Oklahoma players were among those cut from NFL squads this weekend as teams trimmed their rosters heading into the first week of the regular season.
Last year's starting quarterback at Oklahoma -- Paul Thompson -- was cut from the Green Bay Packers. The Packers also parted ways with former OU defensive lineman and Lawton native Larry Birdine.
One of the University of Tulsa's top offensive weapons two years ago also was cut. Tight end Garrett Mills was let go by the New England Patriots. Mills was a fourth-round pick after coming out of Tulsa in 2006.
