It was a spectacular site at the Tulsa Convention Center on Saturday. Some of the most exotic species of bird were there for Saturday’s fundraiser. It was called the Indian Summer Bird Fair and it helped raised money for the Oklahoma Avicultural Society.

Visitors were able to learn about proper bird care and other bird related information.

"With these birds with many of the birds you just don't put them in a cage and feed them seed. actually macaw, and many of the other birds eat pretty much what people do," says Mary Hill with the Oklahoma Avicultural Society.

Organizers told the News On 6, the money raised from Saturday's event would be used to pay for educational speakers at special lectures each month.

You can catch those lectures on the 4th Sunday of every month at the Hardesy Public Library at 8316 East 93rd Street in Tulsa from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
