ALVA, Okla. (AP) -- Testimony from law enforcement agents dominate the trial of a Woodward County woman accused of killing her 6-year-old son. Katherine Rutan, also known as Katherine Pollard, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Logan Tucker, whose body has never been found.
Among those taking the stand Tuesday was Narcotics Task Force agent Rick Stephens, who posed as a truck driver and lived in the same apartment complex as Rutan in 2002.
Stephens said when he took Rutan out for dinner one night after Logan's disappearance, she allegedly said she believed that Logan was dead. But Stephens said Rutan also said she believed her ex-boyfriend's roommate took the boy.
Prosecutors also played a DVD of footage taken from recordings of her while at Stephens' apartment. In one instance, Rutan said, quote, "I shouldn't have done what I did ... I've hung myself."
An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agent testified that he found heavy plastic, rope and a pillow during a search of Rutan's vehicle and the home where she was staying.
