ALVA, Okla. (AP) -- The brother of a Woodward County woman accused of killing her 6-year-old son testified in her murder trial and denied ever taking the boy as his sister once claimed. Brian Marquardt took the stand in the first-degree murder trial of Katherine Rutan Pollard who is charged with the murder of Logan Tucker.
Logan disappeared in June 2002 and hasn't been seen since.
Marquardt said he last saw Logan in 2000 and had never been to Woodward where his sister was living when the boy disappeared.
Investigators say Pollard told them Logan was taken by Marquardt and that she produced a message from her telephone answering machine in which a man claiming to be Marquardt said he had Logan.
But another witness testified the voice on the machine is his. Don Hackley says Pollard asked him to make the call and leave the message and that Pollard stood in the background telling him what to say.
