A couple of astronomical events are taking place this week, sort of. An email hoax has been making the rounds at this time of year for the last several years regarding Mars appearing to be as bright or as big as the moon. There is no substance to it, it is a HOAX!
As for the lunar eclipse, that is an event which will be viewable over all of North America during the early morning hours of Tuesday morning. The moon will be entering totality for about an hour and a half starting at 4:52AM and the eclipse will still be ongoing when the moon sets at 6:59 AM.
