Tulsa Police are looking for a couple that offered to sell a woman a gold brick in a parking lot, and then robbed the woman when she backed out of the deal. News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports on the case in this week’s “Catch A Crook.â€
Two surveillance snapshots shows the woman Tulsa Police are looking for. Police say the woman and a man approached a victim in a parking lot near Sheridan and Admiral on July 23, just after noon.
"She's approached by a Hispanic male and female under the guise they need help. She befriends them. They have a bar of gold they're trying to sell her," said Tulsa Police officer Scott Walton.
The victim agrees, withdraws money from a bank, and then gives the woman a ride to the Wal-Mart at Admiral and Memorial. That is when victim backs out of the deal.
"At that time, the female suspect threatens her and her two small children and forces her to hand over the money she withdrew from the bank," says Officer Scott Walton.
Tulsa Police have released a picture of the suspects' blue vehicle. Tulsa Police say the woman they are looking for has gaps in her teeth, a lazy left eye and eyebrows that are tattooed on. The man, police are looking for has a moustache and a mole on his left cheek next to his nose.
Tulsa Police say the gold bar was a fake.
