The following product recalls have been announced:
About 4,000 Windsor Spindle-Back side chairs, imported by J.C. Penney and made in Malaysia, because the wood stretchers can split while in use and the chairs can collapse. There has been one minor whiplash injury reported. The company has received four reports of chairs splitting and collapsing.
The recalled chairs come in a set of four. The chairs measure 36-inches high. The backs and legs are painted white and the seat is a natural wood color. The chairs were sold online and through the J.C. Penney catalog. Consumers should contact the company to obtain free replacement chairs. They can also return the chairs to a J.C. About 740 AC adapters sold with network hard disk drives, imported by I-O Data Device USA Inc., because the AC adapters can overheat or melt, which poses as a burn hazard to consumers. The AC adapters were manufactured in Japan. The company has received three reports of the adapters overheating. No injuries have been reported.

About 1,000 Sleepi Crib foam mattresses, manufactured in Italy by Stokke, because the crib mattresses are not properly sized, creating a gap in the crib that poses an entrapment hazard to young children. No injuries or illnesses have been reported. The recalled cribs, sold nationwide from September 2006 through March 2007, are oval shaped with foam mattresses and are sold under the following model numbers: 660321, 660320, 660301, 660305, 660318, 652268, 652269, 652246, 652247 and 652248. About 35,000 Priddy ``Trucks'' Shaker teether books, manufactured in China by St. Martin's Press LLC, because small pieces of the teether can break off, posing a choking hazard to young children. St. Martin's Press has received two reports of children biting off pieces of the teethers, but no reports of injury.
The recalled cloth teether book titled ``trucks'' has a yellow dump truck on the front cover and a yellow rattle on top that attaches to green and orange teethers. About 4,700 Basic Editions-brand girls clothing sets, manufactured in Egypt and imported by Millenium Apparel Group, because the recalled clothing has drawstrings at the waist. Children can get entangled or caught in a vehicle door and can be dragged, posing a risk of injury or death. The recalled clothing sets include shirts with the text ``Varsity Club Winning Attitude'' paired with turquoise shorts and shirts with the text ``Paradise University Girls Club'' paired with green shorts. Both sets were sold at Kmart stores nationwide from March 2007 through May 2007.

Protocol Inc., of Beaverton, Ore., is recalling 1,722 MRL/Welch Allyn AED 20 Automatic External defibrillators because a select group of the devices may fail or produce a delay in analyzing a patient's ECG and may not deliver appropriate therapy. This could possibly result in failure to resuscitate the patient. The recalled defibrillators, manufactured between October 2003 and January 2006 in Buffalo Grove, Ill., were sold under the serial numbers 205787 through 207509. The company said it has received 21 complaints about devices in this group of MRL/Welch Allyn AED 20s.
The problem will occur in combination with an error message on the device display reading ``DEFIB COMM FAIL SELF TEST FAILED.'' Owners of the defibrillator should contact their local Welch Allyn representative to obtain a loaner AED 20 at no cost while their unit is being serviced. For more information, consumers can call 800-289-2501 and choose option 5. Any reactions should be reported to the Food and Drug Administration's MedWatch adverse event reporting program at www.fda.gov.
