ALVA, Okla. (AP) -- Testimony is under way in the murder trial of a Woodward County woman accused of killing her 6-year-old son with one witness saying the woman told him she wished she could kill her kids.
Katherine Rutan is charged with first-degree murder of Logan Tucker. The boy disappeared in June 2002 and his body has never been found. Rutan is also known as Katherine Pollard.
Rick Cody of Nowata testified Thursday that while he and Rutan were living together she told him she wished there was a way to kill her children and get away with. Cody says Rutan then repeated the comment.
Tulsa police officer Jaime Wofford testified that while investigating a child needing supervision at Rutan's house she told him Logan made her so mad she just wanted to hurt him.
Logan and his younger brother were taken into protective custody at the time but were returned to Rutan in early May 2002.
