MASON, Ohio (AP) -- Top-ranked Roger Federer has won his 50th tournament title by beating James Blake 6-1, 6-4 in the final of the Cincinnati Masters.

The 26-year-old Swiss star becomes the fifth-youngest player to reach 50 and the ninth overall in the Open Era to win so many tournaments.

Federer improves to 7-and-0 against Blake, who has won only one of their 19 sets.

Federer has won 35 straight matches against Americans since he lost to Andy Roddick in the semifinals at Montreal in August 2003.
