TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- A Tulsa man is killed after his pickup trucks slides off an Osage County road and slams into a tree north of Tulsa. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 19-year-old Terry Lee Smith of Tulsa was pronounced dead after Saturday's crash, which happened about 10:40 p.m.
The patrol says Smith was driving westbound on 55th Street North when his 2004 Ford Ranger ran off the road, slid sideways and slammed into a tree. The driver's side door hit the tree, pinning Smith inside the wreckage.
A 16-year-old passenger in the truck -- Homer Ray Ridgway the Fourth of Tulsa -- was taken to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition.
A third passenger wasn't injured.
The patrol report indicates alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
