BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) -- Water treatment problems have led officials to ask Bartlesville residents to reduce their water consumption. Mike Hall, director of water utilities, said a water treatment plant is having trouble filtering enough water to meet customer demand.

City officials are asking customers to reduce their water use to only necessary purposes. If water demand is not reduced, officials will limit the amount of water pumped into the system, creating low pressure.

The quality of the water remains good, Hall said.
