NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma's season opener is just three weeks away, but Sooner coaches say the three-man competition at quarterback remains undecided.

Oklahoma held its initial preseason scrimmage Saturday. The three quarterback candidates -- junior Joey Halzle, redshirt freshman Sam Bradford and true freshman Keith Nichol -- each led the Sooners on one scoring drive.

Offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson says Sunday will be the first chance since preseason practice started for the Sooners' coaching staff to discuss the quarterback situation at length.

He hinted that it's possible the final decision on a starter might not be made until after the season starts.

Oklahoma will open on September 1st at home against North Texas and will host Miami a week later.
