The search for a new Tulsa Police chief will be over before November 18th. That is the word by city officials who say Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor plans to name a replacement by then.

Interim Police Chief David Bostrom will have completed six months on the job. Leaving before November 18th allows Bostrom to avoid having to meet state police chief training requirements.

Earlier this year, Mayor Kathy Taylor rejected three internal candidates for the job. Those three candidates have filed a lawsuit claiming the city charter requires the mayor to hire internally if three qualified candidates apply.
