More severe weather could be headed for Colorado today after a rough round of storms hammered parts of northern Colorado Thursday evening. Thunderstorms blew up over parts of northern Colorado, triggering flood warnings and causing serious flooding problems.
The National Weather Service is reporting that part of the south side of Fort Collins received nearly 5-inches of rain in just a couple of hours. The heavy rains caused creeks and rivers to rapidly rise. Many of the major roads in Fort Collins were covered with deep water. Drivers were left with no choice but to slow down to get through the flooding safely.
The heavy rains caused some serious problem at the Colorado State University campus, as the rains flooded rooms in several buildings and leaked through a number of roofs.
