MIAMI, Okla. (AP) -- The Seneca-Cayuba Tribe says that the results of its election for a chief will stand despite a protest. The Miami-based tribe says that the Court of Indian Offenses will let the election of Paul Spicer as the tribe's chief stand. The court has ruled it does not have jurisdiction over tribal election disputes.
In June, Spicer was re-elected to a second 2-year term. The tribe says former Chief Leroy Howard had challenged the results of that election.
