DALLAS (AP) -- The Dallas Mavericks have signed first-round draft pick Nick Fazekas for undisclosed terms.
The Mavs took the Nevada power forward with the 34th overall pick in last month's draft. He was Nevada's career-leading scorer and shot blocker. He also was a second-team All-American as a senior, averaging 20.4 points and 11.1 rebounds a game for the 29--5 Wolf Pack.
The Mavs also signed free agent forward Brandon Bass Thursday for undisclosed terms.
Bass spent two seasons with the New Orleans Hornets, averaging 2.2 points and two-point-two rebounds in 8.6 minutes per game. He played in 50 career games after being selected with the 33rd overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft.
The six-foot-eight, 240-pound LSU standout has been playing with the six-foot-eleven Fazekas on the Mavs' summer league team.
