ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) -- The president of the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce says plans for a Chinese auto assembly plant remain on hold.
Nanjing Automobile Corporation announced plans just over a year ago to build an MG assembly plant in southern Oklahoma.
Ardmore Chamber President Wes Stucky says negotiations continue but issues within the Chinese government are standing in the way and license issues involving the merger of Nanjing and Shanghai Automotive must be resolved.
When state and local officials announced plans for the MG plant last July it was said it would have about 325 employees. The company was also to build headquarters in Oklahoma City and a create a development facility at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
