Temperatures are warming nicely and I think weâ€™ll continue to see a few showers or storms today just west of the Tulsa area. There may be a weak boundary positioned just west of Tulsa oriented from roughly north to south. On the west side of this boundary where dew point temperatures are in the lower 70s, weâ€™ll see some showers or storms forming and moving basically west or southwest of our area. Itâ€™s not impossible to see a shower or two near Tulsa but some drier air continues to filter into the far eastern OK and western Arkansas areas. I have kept a 20% mention of a shower or storm this afternoon.

Dry air heats and cools efficiently. Many locations across far eastern OK experienced morning lows in the lower and mid 60s. Fayetteville Ark hit a low of 57 just a few degrees shy of the all time record low of 54F from 2003. Tulsa had a low of 70F, which is 4 degrees below the normal average low.

The next few days weâ€™ll be concerned about small scale features caught up in the northeasterly flow that would fire up a shower or two. Isolated storms are possible, but the coverage will be thin.

We do have a disturbance now in the Dakotas that will dive down the flow and could approach the area by late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. But at the same time, the upper air flow should be transitioning to a northwesterly flow. I donâ€™t have any mention of a storm Thursday morning, but this will need to be monitored.

Otherwise a frontal boundary will be approaching the northwestern OK areas Friday night and weâ€™ll have a chance of showers or storms either late Friday night or Saturday morning. I currently have a 30% probability for Saturday but we may need to push some pops into the Friday night time period.
