Harry Potter fans worldwide are waiting for the clock to strike midnight. That's when the latest and last novel, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," goes on sale. News On 6 anchor Terry Hood reports speculation abounds around how the final installment in the series will end.
The countdown is almost over. For the past 10 years Harry Potter fans have read about sorcerers and secrets, fire and the phoenix, prisoners and princes, the only volume missing from the set, "The Deathly Hallows."
"I've never seen as much excitement over any of the other Harry Potters as I've seen for this last book," Borders General Manager Julie Powell said.
Powell’s store has streamers, and action figures, kids can even take home their very own magic wand. Beth and Jenny Clark were toddlers when the first book cast a spell worldwide. Now they're just the youngest generation of fans in their family. The sisters each have a book on reserve.
"Our grandma reads it too, so she wanted to get us all of them so we all get our own copies so we don't have to share them," said 12-year-old Harry Potter fan Jenny Clark.
No one can buy the book until midnight, and you can't crack the cover, but we will tell you the book ends on page 759. Everyone has questions about the ending.
"Whether Harry or Voldemort dies," said Brianna Robertson, 12-year-old Harry Potter fan.
"If maybe if one of the best characters died that would stink really bad," 11-year-old Harry Potter fan Beth Clark said.
"I hope Harry Potter doesn't die," one fan said.
Girls also want to see love triumph in the end.
"I'm also looking forward to Ron and Hermione getting together, because they just seem like they would go so good together," fan Beth Clark said.
"Through the whole book it seems like they like each other, so it would be so cool to see them finally get together," said fan Jenny Clark.
Jenny, Beth and Brianna plan on pulling all-nighters.
"The kids will stay up late. This is the one day in the summer they get to stay up until 2a.m., so we have plenty of sugar here for them,†Powell said.
Many kids say they'll be running on pure adrenaline.
"I'm so excited," Jenny Clark said. "I ain't gonna wait."
