RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (AP) _ Edmond teenager Samantha Woodward has won gold at the Pan American Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

The 16-year-old Woodward was a member of the U.S. 400 freestyle relay swimming team which beat Brazil by less than a second for the gold medal Thursday.

The Americans have now won 18 swimming medals.

Another of those 18 medals belongs to Woodward who won silver Wednesday in the 100 butterfly.

Woodward is the youngest member of the American team and will be a senior this fall at Edmond Memorial.
