WORTHINGTON, Ind. (AP) _ The remains of a sailor aboard the USS Oklahoma who was killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor have finally been identified.
The Navy says the remains are that of Petty Officer 3rd Class Alfred Livingston of Indiana.
Four-hundred-29 aboard the Oklahoma died in the attack _ second only to the USS Arizona in the number killed.
Livingston's body couldn't be identified at the time and he was buried in Hawaii.
The body was identified recently through dental records and skeletal structures after a World War II historian determined only two men with that last name were killed in the attack and the Indiana man was unaccounted for.
The remains will be returned to Livingston's family in Worthington, Indiana, and a funeral with military honors will be Saturday.
