WASHINGTON (AP) _ Oklahoma will get more than $11,600,000 from the government to fix communications problems among emergency responders. The government is handing out a total of nearly $1 billion to states and major cities to repair the problems that still plague police and fire departments six years after the 9/11 terror attacks.

Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez will answer an urgent need and allow firefighters, police and other first responders to communicate effectively with each other in case of emergency.
