Passenger Flees After Car Crash

A one car crash Monday afternoon sent the driver to the hospital and his passenger running from scene. Tulsa Police say a contractor's van hit at least one parked car, and then smashed head first into a light post several hundred yards away. EMSA treated the driver at the scene. A passenger in the van ran away after the wreck. Neighbors say speeding drivers need to slow down.

"You know, being a neighborhood like this, we have so many kids running around, basketball hoop, playing in the street. I'd have felt really bad had one of these kids, like here on the bike, would have just got nailed by it,â€ said witness Eric Cotter.

The 22-year-old driver was cited for hit-and-run and wreckless driving. Tulsa Police officers found pills in a plastic bag in the van and plan on testing them and the driver.
