DENVER (AP) _ A man who walked into the offices of Gov. Bill Ritter with a gun and declared ``I am the emperor'' was shot and killed by a member of the governor's security detail, a spokesman said. Ritter was not injured.

The governor's offices include a lobby and several other rooms. It was not immediately clear where the governor or the gunman was at the time.

The unidentified man walked into the office and said, ``I am the emperor and I'm here to take over city government,'' spokesman Evan Dreyer said.
