I’m running late today due to the active weather in the area. To save a little time, I’ll skip some of the specifics and get to the basics!
Again we’re starting the day with showers and storms, but they’ll scoot down to the south early this morning leaving clouds for the majority of the day. Later this afternoon partly cloudy conditions will be expected and we may see a scattered storm or two developing across the area.
The next few days will again be active despite a relatively low chance of showers or storms. Why? The upper air flow will remain from the northwest and you can rarely take out the probabilities with this type of flow. If the lower levels would dry out, that would help us greatly, but we expect the moisture content to remain near the area or just south of the area.
Early next week model data suggests an upper level trough will be persisting around eastern OK or the ArkLaTex and this would keep a mention of showers or storms across the eastern third of the area.
Our friends from the National Weather Service issued a statement that today is the 36th consecutive day with precipitation in our area. That’s pretty impressive, even more so in the middle of Summer.
