Oklahomans are no stranger to severe weather, be it thunderstorms, tornadoes, floods or wildfires weâ€™ve been through it all. Thatâ€™s why The News On 6 has created the Storm Zone and the Tornado Zone. Itâ€™s an information resource that can keep you safe during a tornado, flood, or severe thunderstorm.

Launched in April 2007 the Tornado Zone has tornado safety tips as well as popular myths about tornadoes, including the one that mobile homes attract twisters. In the Tornado Zone youâ€™ll also find pictures submitted by News On 6 viewers, home videos of tornadoes, aerial video of Oklahoma twisters and News On 6 video of the storms and the damage left behind.

In June 2007 The News On 6 added the Storm Zoneto its website, kotv.com. With special sections for flooding, lightning and hail the Storm Zone offers users information on all Mother Nature throws at Oklahomans, from how lightning is formed to staying safe in a flood. And just like the Tornado Zone you can see viewer submitted pictures as well as video from across the state of severe weather.
