TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Former Oral Roberts star Larry Owens is getting a shot at playing in the NBA.

Owens has signed with the Miami Heat's NBA Summer League team after spending last season playing in France.

He played guard and forward at ORU from 2004 through 2006 and was the Mid-Continent Conference defensive player of the year in 2006.

The Heat's Summer League team will play five games this week and next week.
