ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Spiro, Oklahoma, graduate Ryan Franklin has signed a two-year contract extension with the St. Louis Cardinals with a team option for 2010.

The 34-year-old reliever is 3 and 0 with a 1.29 ERA in 37 appearances for the Cardinals this year.

Franklin will get a base salary of $2 million in the first year of the contract. This year's deal pays him $1 million plus incentives.
