ALTOONA, Iowa (AP) _ A former 2-year-old champion thoroughbred at Remington Park in Oklahoma City finishes third late Friday in the $250,000 Iowa Derby.

Going Ballistic, trained by Donnie Von Hemel of Piedmont, ended up third in the 1 1/16 mile race at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa, 3½ lengths behind the winner, Delightful Kiss.

Longshot Flashstorm finished second.

Ridden by Remington Park regular Cliff Berry, Going Ballistic spent the first half of the race at the back of the 11-horse field before making a late rally to finish in the money.

The 3-year-old son of Lite the Fuse went off at 14-1 odds and paid $6.20 to show. He won $25,000 for the third-place finish.

Delightful Kiss' winning time was 1 minute, 42.05 econds on a fast track.
