BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) _ The Lone Star Conference announces Thursday that it plans to hold its postseason basketball tournament in Bartlesville for the next three years.

Six of the NCAA Division II league's 15 schools are located in Oklahoma, although none are in Bartlesville. The closest league school to Bartlesville is Northeastern State, 108 miles away in Tahlequah.

Lone Star Commissioner Stan Wagnon says Bartlesville beat out three other cities that bid to host the tournament. He says the Richardson, Texas-based league's site-visit team came away impressed with the town and its bid.

The tournament games will be played at Bartlesville High School's new $5.5 million gym. The facility seats about 2,200 people and opened last fall.

Besides Northeastern State, other Lone Star members from Oklahoma are Central Oklahoma of Edmond, Southeastern Oklahoma State of Durant, Southwestern Oklahoma State of Weatherford, East Central of Ada and Cameron of Lawton.
