OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The state Court of Criminal Appeals has set an August 21st execution date for condemned killer Frank Duane Welch. Welch was sentenced to die for the 1987 murder of Jo Talley Cooper in Cooper's home in Norman.
The case had gone unsolved for nearly a decade until Welch was connected to a nearly identical killing. He was then tied to Cooper's murder through DNA evidence.
