MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- Muskogee city officials and the local firefighters union are accusing each other of unfair labor practices. The city and union have been trying to agree on a contract for the firefighters for about two years.
Now the city says the union is avoiding the city's representative and hasn't bargained in good faith. Meanwhile local union President Bryan Fuller says Mayor Wren Stratton denied a request by the union to publicly present a contract settlement offer during a City Council meeting.
In the meantime, an election is set for February 5th for voters to decide the terms of the firefighters' contract with the city.
