Tomas Vokoun kept up his unbeatable play against the St. Louis Blues, and the Dallas Stars extended their domination of the Los Angeles Kings.
Vokoun stopped 33 shots and recorded his 24th career shutout, helping the Panthers earn a 1-0 victory over the Blues on Thursday night. Vokoun, who has three shutouts this season, improved to 7-0 against the Blues since the 2004-05 lockout.
``I took some beatings in the past the first couple of years we played them,'' said Vokoun, who is in his first year with Florida after eight years with Nashville. ``You go into every game with the same intention of winning. Whatever happened before, doesn't really matter. Every game starts 0-0 no matter if you've won 100 games or lost 100 games before.''
Florida's Stephen Weiss scored at 1:10 of the second period.
Mike Ribeiro had two goals and two assists to lead the Stars to a 4-1 victory over the Kings. Antti Miettinen added a goal and two assists, Brenden Morrow had a goal and an assist, and Dallas improved to 11-1-1 in the last 13 meetings with Los Angeles.
``That whole line was really feeding off each other,'' Stars coach Dave Tippett said. ``They were excellent in creating. We wanted someone to come in and take charge so we challenged our veteran leadership. They really took it to heart.''
Dallas, which has won seven straight at home against Los Angeles to tie the club's longest active home winning streak, has outscored the Kings 48-26 in its past 13 matchups.
In other games Thursday night, it was: New Jersey 3, Boston 1; Montreal 4, Philadelphia 1; the New York Islanders 3, Phoenix 2; Ottawa 4, Pittsburgh 1; Edmonton 4, Detroit 3 in a shootout; Calgary 9, Tampa Bay 6; Colorado 2, Nashville 1; and San Jose 5, Vancouver 2.
Florida earned its second win in its past six games. The Panthers have won four straight on the road for the first time since February 2003.
St. Louis' Manny Legace stopped 24 shots in his return after missing four games with a knee injury.
Weiss put in a rebound to give Florida the lead. Nathan Horton's slap shot from the right circle hit the skate of Blues defenseman Matt Walker, and an alert Weiss lifted the puck over Legace for the goal.
``I was just buzzing in their zone and it got to Nathan and he just turned and fired toward the net,'' Weiss said. ``I got a nice rebound with pretty much an empty net. I'll take those.''
About 90 seconds later, Vokoun thwarted Martin Rucinsky's shot on a breakaway.
Marty Turco faced the Kings for the first time since giving up five third-period goals in a 6-5 overtime loss in Los Angeles on Nov. 10, and finished with 26 saves for the Stars.
``I wasn't thinking about that last game in L.A.,'' Turco said. ``I was focusing on tonight. I felt it was a solid all-around effort.''
Tom Preissing's power-play goal at 3:29 of the third period ended Turco's bid for his 32nd career shutout.
Ribeiro, Miettinen and Morrow have combined for 14 points in the two games they've played as a line. Miettinen is filling in for Finnish countryman Jere Lehtinen, out eight to 10 weeks with an abdominal injury.
Oilers 4, Red Wings 3, SO
Ales Hemsky scored the only goal of the shootout and Edmonton snapped host Detroit's seven-game winning streak. Hemsky, Joni Pitkanen and Fernando Pisani scored in regulation for the Oilers, and Dwayne Roloson had 39 saves.
Henrik Zetterberg had two goals and Mark Hartigan also scored for Detroit.
Flames 9, Lightning 6

Adrian Aucoin, Daymond Langkow and Owen Nolan also scored for the Flames. Iginla scored all his goals in the third period, breaking a 6-all deadlock with goals with 5:19 and 4:19 left in the period.
Tampa Bay got two goals and an assist from Martin St. Louis. Vincent Lecavalier, Andre Roy, Vinny Prospal and Brad Richards also scored.
